How long should I meditate for?
This will vary from person to person. Some people meditate for 20 minutes, whil others meditate for 60. You should do whatever feels most comfortable and natural to you. If you are new to meditating, consider starting with 10 minute-long sessions, then slowly increasing the time as you get more comfortable with meditating.
In meditation, you don't have to think. just concentrate on your breath and let go of all thoughts.
I can't really concentrate on meditation. What should I focus on?
Before starting the session, be prepared to concentrate on your breathing. If you become distracted, it's okay. Regain your focus and concentrate again on your breathing. You can also add one or more of your senses to concentrate on. For example, the sound of the air and movement of the stomach. Remember that meditation is not a performance, so don't be critical of yourself.
Will mindful meditation help me communicate?
Yes, it can because the act of "being mindful" can help clear the way for more conscious and considerate communication.
I am a beginner and I find it very difficult to focus on one particular thing. How can I keep my focus?
Just keep focusing on your breathing and stay away from distractions. Keep reminding yourself to inhale and exhale, and do it at a constant rate. Meditation takes practice, so don't give up.
How do I concentrate?
Focus on something tangible in the present moment. Your breath is best, but it could be the background noise in the place you're in (try to be somewhere quiet, though) or the sensations in your body. It is completely normal for your mind to drift off into thought, and it's important not to beat yourself up about that. Simply return to your focal point.
How can I remove all thoughts from my mind?
Meditation helps calm the mind and reduce the number of concurrent thoughts, but you will likely never get rid of all of them. The more you practice meditation, the easier it becomes. Focus on your breathing. When thoughts come into your head, observe them without engaging with them, and allow them to pass by as though they were floating past on a cloud or stream.
Is this actually effective?
It may take a while to get the hang of it, but once you do, it is extremely effective in reducing stress, increasing productivity, aiding better communication, and controlling emotional responses, as well as a whole raft of other benefits. Scientists are starting to confirm what people who meditate have known for years: that it improves your health, both physical and mental.
When I meditate I feel I am outside my body is it okay? I am just a 13-year-old boy.
Yes, that's perfectly normal. After finishing your meditation, imagine yourself coming back into your body.
Can I meditate to find God?
You can, but you have to surrender yourself completely. During your meditation try to let go of yourself totally. You will come to total blissful state and then you can feel godliness inside of you. At that moment there will be no words and no mind. A moment where your being is merging into the divine.
